PRICE cuts and new marketing deals have helped Barratt Developments record an increase in visitor numbers to its sites.
The company, which has a number of developments in Edinburgh including West One at Slateford Road and Fusion at West Granton Road, said visitor levels per site were up 7.5 per cent in the weeks since the beginning of September.

Sales rates were 0.44 per week per site in the period, down 6.6 per cent on a year earlier but better than the 0.36 per week per site in the 19 weeks to November 9.

They have been helped by a number of discounts and special deals on stamp duty.

But chief executive Mark Clare said: "Conditions in the housing market are now as tough as anyone can remember, with increasing pressure on prices and margins."
