Fresh appeal over missing OAP

POLICE in West Lothian have made a fresh appeal in the search for a pensioner who disappeared more than five months ago.
Mary Ferns, 88, went missing near her home in Vancouver Avenue in the Howden area of Livingston on June 17.

Despite extensive searches and publicity, she remains missing.

A police spokesman said: "We still remain hopeful we can find Mrs Ferns alive and well.

"We would like to issue a fresh appeal to the public for any information on Mrs Ferns."

She is described as around 5ft 3in, slim, with grey short hair and green eyes. She was last seen carrying a blue floral patterned walking stick and a brown handbag. Anyone with information can contact police on 0131-311 3131 or 01506-431 200.
