MUSIC fans are being encouraged to be environmentally friendly at next weekend's Hydro Connect festival in Inveraray.
Coach giant Scottish CityLink is urging travellers to choose it to travel to the annual event, promising to give something back to the environment in return.

CityLink has teamed up with event sponsors Scottish Hydro Electric, agreeing to neutralise the atmospheric effect of coaches' exhausts by planting trees for every passenger travelling.

The carbon offsetting scheme is part of Hydro Connect's green credentials and CityLink hopes to make the event car-free within three years.

CityLink passengers will also be given a free waterproof poncho, made from recycled materials, in case the festival is a wash out.

Anna Crampin, sponsorship manager for Scottish Hydro Electric, said: "Encouraging Hydro Connect to become a car-free event is an important contribution to our entire partnership focus."

If you want people to use public transport and not use cars - hold it in or near a city.
