QUEEN stars Brian May and Roger Taylor are set to visit Edinburgh for the opening of their hit musical We Will Rock You.
The duo are expected to make an appearance on the opening night of a ten-week run of their rock musical at the Edinburgh Playhouse.

We Will Rock You is the longest running musical ever staged at the London's Dominion Theatre in the West End, where
it is currently playing its seventh year.

Brian May has been known to turn up at shows and even grab a guitar to perform on stage with the cast, and fans will hope he will give Edinburgh audiences the same treat when the musical embarks on its first UK tour next year.

Tickets for the Edinburgh leg of the show's tour will go on sale on Monday, September 15, even though it doesn't start its two-month run for well over a year – it will open on November 3, 2009.

Brian May said: "We are excited to be able, finally, to send a brand new top class We Will Rock You company out on tour around the UK."

He added: "We are completely hands on, and will be visiting."

More than 24 of Queen's hits have been incorporated into the musical.

The record-breaking show was written by former comedian Ben Elton, while Brian May and Roger Taylor also helped to develop the project by working as its two music supervisors.
