THE first batch of 27,000 tickets for the preview week of the Fringe were yesterday posted to customers after software problems brought printers to a halt at the weekend.
But with less than a week to go before the curtain opens on the first previews on July 30, Fringe organisers have yet to sort out their over-the-counter box office sales.

Tickets from the first batch of preview shows were posted first-class and organisers say they should arrive with customers before the previews. A spokesman said: "Work is continuing on the Fringe box office system to ensure that ticketing services will be improved in time for the start of the Fringe.

"Tickets for all shows will continue to be sold through edfringe.com and the website will always post accurate information on how to purchase tickets for every show at the Fringe.

"The Fringe will go ahead as planned and no shows have been cancelled because of ticketing difficulties."

The Fringe website is thoroughly dreadful this year.
Unless you know what you want it is impossible to search the shows and that kind of defeats the purpose of a search facility.
