HEARTS have said they expect a decision to be made on their planning application for the £51 million development of a new stand in October.
The club's former chairman Leslie Deans recently raised concerns about the length of time being taken by the city council to process the application, which was submitted earlier this year.

Of particular concern was the value of the council-owned Tynecastle nursery school and adult learning centre, which will be bought by Hearts for £1.8 million as part of the deal.

The effect of the credit crunch has recently seen land values fall sharply, but Hearts insisted they were unconcerned and said the council were keeping them informed. A spokesman for the club said: "It is taking a long time, but then it is a very big, complex development so that is to be expected.

"We were always told by the council that they expected it to come before committee in October or November of this year and we are still confident that will happen."

Until the penny finally drops with Vlad that he needs a good consistently winning side on the park to fill the current seats, let alone the proposed increase then this will always be a contentious issue. Has he taken it on board with Csaba given full control? Maybes aye, maybes naw. Vlad's still on probation IMO.

Cue Hobonomics....

#3 I hope I'm right but I think he has put down a more solid basis for building this time, teamwise, rather than the boom and bust type policy 3 years ago.
Fingers crossed for a bright, prosperous future and a stadium to be even more proud of.

Expect a decision around Dec/Jan.

If it was going to be NO it would have been done by now - they need to change a few things but in principle it's a YES.

The Council will need VERY good reasons to turn down the application, what with all the other developments that have been approved in Edinburgh. This one is arguably of much more benefit to the community than others given the go ahead. They'd have some serious explaining to do if they denied the city better sporting facilities and the associated new jobs in an area in dire need of some regeneration.

Here's one, they've just given the ok for a massive eyesore of a hotel in haymarket, so why do they need another one in the area?
but this council are so stupid they most certainly knock this application back

If it comes off I'll buy a season ticket - this season, the diehards that I went to the games with decided not to renew and I did the same (I've even dodged the een footie forum as a result).

The current manager seems an improvement on fanta-pants Frail but I don't believe Vlad will push the boat out to see hearts win anything ... damn ... I don't even think he could leave the manager to pick the team.

But as I say, if comes off, just like Arnie: I'll be back!!
