Published Date: 20 August 2008
LITHUANIAN midfielder Kestutis Ivaskevicius has left Hearts and returned to FBK Kaunas following the completion of his loan agreement.
The Tynecastle club deemed the 23-year-old surplus to requirements for this season after two years in Edinburgh. He scored crucial goals against both Celtic and Rangers during his time in Scotland but did not feature in new manager Csaba Laszlo's plans.

He was vying with Saulius Mikoliunas, Larry Kingston, Deividas Cesnauskis, Andy Driver, Mirsad Beslija and recent signing David Obua for the wide midfield berths at Hearts.

"There was too much competition in Kestutis' position. We would like to wish him all the best for his future career," Anatoli Korobochka, the club's sport director, told the Hearts website.

Boing !!! Hearts - Boing !! - Kaunas......the wee pink stadium on the west side of toun should be renamed Bouncycastle given the way Lord Vlad shuffles his "boys" back and forwards between Kaunas and Kaunas Lite.

Another sensible decision IMO. Never rated the boy. And it makes the whole S. Banks story even more baffling. Looking forward to finally seeing the standard of the new players brought in.

Hurray! Great news. Useless diddy who should never have played once let alone the countless times he kept far better players out the team with Vlad flu.

Keep up the good work Laszlo.

If only they'd get shot of Miko. Seen this on the BBC?

"Hearts boss Csaba Laszlo urged Saulius Mikoliunas to learn from his mistakes in future after his sending-off in the 2-0 defeat to Rangers at Ibrox.

"Everybody must have a second chance," Laszlo said.

"If the player gets a yellow card, then he must take some of his aggressive play back and be a little bit careful.

"This foul was not necessary. I spoke with Miko and it's very important to learn for the future - we can't change it but we can learn from it."

A SECOND CHANCE??? This is hardly the 1st time this idiot has got himself sent off and has cost his team mates points. He's a total liability.

#8 Aye that glorious winner he scored last weekend really annoyed me!!

Yes, Miko can be a very frustrating player, he gets fouled and makes a mess of it, just fall like normal people when they are fouled, don't leap like a salmon!

I wish Laryea Kingston had the workrate of Miko, Kingston doesn't get close enough to the opposition's players when we don't have the ball to even commit a stupid challenge!

Technically a decent player, quality goals he scored, but far too infrequent, not up to the pace. Pretty much like most of the Lithuanians, anonymous for too long in matches.
