MIXU PAATELAINEN admitted today that his side's record against Inverness is horrendous – but believes Hibs can break their duck at the Caledonian Stadium on his first trip north.
Paatelainen has played just once in Inverness, in a testimonial match, and will make his first appearance there as a manager this weekend.

He goes there in the knowledge that Hibs haven't won a game against the hosts at their own stadium in five a
ttempts, but is determined to put that statistic to bed.

He said: "Our record up there is absolutely horrendous, but we have to forget about that and take each game as it comes.

"Inverness always make it difficult for teams, not only us, on their home ground. I know that they had a disappointing result last weekend, but that could make it even more difficult for us.

"But we got a few goals last weekend and I am confident that there will be more to come from them and from our midfielders this season."

Meanwhile, Paatelainen believes that Andy McNeil will be fit for the trip north. The goalkeeper took a thigh knock in the first half of the gameagainst Falkirk last weekend, but was able to complete the 90 minutes.

With Yves Ma-Kalambay on international duty at the Olympics, the Hibs boss would most likely have to call on reserve stopper David Grof, who made a couple of appearances for the first team during their pre-season games.

But Paatelainen, who will be at Hampden tomorrow night for Scotland's friendly match against Northern Ireland, believes that the odds are stacked in McNeil's favour.

He said: "If Andy didn't make it then we have a Plan B, but I'm sure we won't have to use it."

#3 / #4 East at Easter

Do you really mean 'gobbed'? If so, your second sentence should read:

'Hibs have gobbed on them at good few times at ER,.....'

Since you have repeated the post twice, is the second one a Spitting Image?

What an embarassing record. The fact that it hardly generates any comments here proves what i always thought:

Hibs fans are totally used to mediocrity, and will settle for utter tripe. i guess the lack of any travelling support means that no hibees have actually been there to SEE the abysmal performances in inverness.

#6 kenny settle down! Hibs beat ICT the first time we ever played them in the SPL but it was at Pittodrie as ICT were playing their home games there at the time.
Since then we've played them 5 times up there, drawn one and failed to score a goal.
The only way is up!

Mixu has a fascination for most sports but given his unusual build and looks he is unable to play football or any other sport with the exception of darts. This may be due to his physical build being similar to that of the former Scottish darts legend Jocky Wilson. Unfortunately for Mixu he is not allowed sharp objects, therefore his darts career has been cut short and he has subsequently turned to coaching.

Mixu’s other personality has modelled himself on the late American golfer Payne Stewart. Only yesterday I entered Mixu’s padded room to find him wearing a 'see you Jimmy' hat, a black binliner used as a waterproof jacket and a pair of tartan pyjamas tucked into his Partick Thistle (his new football team) socks. At this time he was practicing his putting using a table leg as a club and some eggs as balls. Needless he was very unsuccessful and it took me several hours to convince him he wasn't a golfer before we eventually went for tea, which it might not surprise you to learn consisted of omelette

#6 I will probably assume the same as most people on here that you are a Rangers follower. If so then why have you been up to Inverness to watch them play Hibernian?

Also you want to watch that thinking stuff as well its not good for Rangers fans.

You will find a lot of people dont come on to stories on here now because
A)the standard of reporting is rubbish
B)You get the old firm fans who cant comment on their own teams stories coming onto these threads and spouting p@sh.

Talking of mediocrity how are all the ex Hibbys at Ibrox these day (Broadfit, Thomson, Whittaker and Miller)?

I think I have given you enough background into Mixu for you to know where this might be leading. Mixu is not in a position, mentally, physically, or football ability wise to be organising a trip to Inverness or anywhere else for that matter. In fact the conditions placed on him by the courts prohibit him from leaving the home unless to receive medical treatment. Mixu has tried to argue that his psychological welfare would improve if he were allowed to go to Inverness to play football however, given he cannot play the game, and his bowel trouble would mean he would spend most of the time on the pan in the toilet, I think it unfair to all inflict Mixu onto the Inverness public, Hibees take heed, The man of few words has spoken!

During our evening meal Mixu informed me of his desire to organise a football trip to Inverness with his friends. Unfortunately for Mixu he doesn't have any friends. He told me he intended to go to Florida as he also would like to spend time on the rollercoaster and buy new clothes. Unfortunately Mixu is no longer allowed to buy his own clothes. This is due to Mixu’s insistence that he is a size Large, when in fact he is an XXXL. This has caused some upset for Mixu especially the day he was mocked by local primary school children when wearing his 'I'M WITH THIS IDIOT --}' t-shirt which was three sizes too small. He has never worn it since however he now carries it pointing it at himself.

At this point, before I leave you; I should make it quite clear that Mixu is by no stretch of the imagination a Football Coach. Albeit one of his many personalities, however has modelled himself on the American golfer Craig Stadler, known affectionately as The Walrus, again probably due to his similar build. Unfortunately for Mixu this is where the similarity ends, (other than Mixu smelling of rotten fish, not unlike a Walrus).

man of few words.

You have to be the most boring poster. I look at your posts, read the first sentence or two and then it is a struggle to continue reading. I get the image of a speccy, unshaven, nerd, sitting in his vest and y-fronts at his pc, frantically typing nonsense then sitting back in his wheelchair waiting for a reply.

You have issues my friend. You obviously have not got over mixu's hat-trick in the 6-2 game.

Man of Few Words,

Musselburgh 20/08/2008 10:12:55
Well folks since my communicate; yesterday Mixu’s situation seems to have worsened considerably. Mixu threw a tantrum and insisted on being allowed to use the computer to buy a suitcase from e-bay for his trip to Inverness (yes, he still thinks he is going!). We eventually gave in and allowed this as there is only so many times you can hear about his imaginary friend’s gout problem.

We had peace for an hour or so as Mixu, rather predictably, went onto the WWE website to watch Summer Slam 2008. This has caused problems in the past as some years ago one of Mixu’s personalities began to model himself on Paul Bearer, the dastardly manager of The Undertaker, again probably due to their likeness both facially and in build. That was a particularly horrendous time as Mixu kept a number of the residents up all night as he wandered through the corridors with his teapot full of gravy granules, which he insisted were the ashes of Brett Hart, whilst moaning and wailing. This sorry episode only ended when Mixu had a wrestling 'bout' with a fellow inmate. During this Mixu was 'tomb-stoned' and his spine was compressed by two inches. This put an end to Mixu’s wrestling interest as he knew he was only one more tomb-stoning away from no longer being tall enough to ride on 'the big boys rides' at the theme park.
