AIRPORT operator BAA has threatened a legal challenge against the Competition Commission after the watchdog recommended a break-up of its businesses.
In its recent report, the company recommended the sale of Edinburgh or Glasgow Airport, as well as two of its London airports.

But BAA has accused the commission of "fundamental misunderstandings" of its business.

It said there is strong evidence that air passengers in Edinburgh and Glasgow are not interested in flying in their rival city.

The operator warned that the commission had committed "substantive errors of law" and "significant errors of fact and reasoning", adding: "If these flaws are not addressed BAA will consider going to the appeals tribunal."

"It said there is strong evidence that air passengers in Edinburgh and Glasgow are not interested in flying in their rival city."

So BAA are saying that passengers in either city actually enjoy the long M8 surface slogs, bypassing their local airports? Utter nonsense!

Utter nonsense indeed. They never said such a thing. How could any reasonable person make such an assertion?
