SANTAS, snowmen, trees with all the trimmings and stars – all the essential ingredients for a perfect Christmas, according to Lothian youngsters.
Children from across the city and beyond have been putting pen, crayon and glitter to paper to create a picture of their ideal Christmas.

Entries have been flooding in for our competition from children of all ages. Mark Morrison, who drew a sketc
h of a robot, his favourite present, is aged just three, while teenagers have also been dreaming up dreamy festive scenes – 13-year-old Heather Denholm's imaginative view through a window into a bedecked room comes complete with sparkling snow.

Beautifully detailed creations include 10-year-old Chiara Wilkinson's little girl in a Santa outfit and a party scene where guests include reindeer, snowmen and Santa from Andrea Tod, 11. Bees aren't always thought of as traditional at Christmas – but 11-year-old Amal Alem created some jolly striped chaps wearing Santa hats who have lots of presents waiting for them under the tree, while seven-year-old Gregor McKenzie's Santa looks like he'll soon be buried under some very seasonal snow.

And Santa will be coming early for our winner, to be chosen after the closing date on Monday, as there is £2000 up for grabs to spend in Jenners.

There's only a few days left to be in with a chance of enjoying a pre-Christmas spending spree, so get those colouring pencils out.

And you'll be able to see all our budding Picassos and their masterpieces at the Evening News gallery in the Jenners toy department, near the Santa's Grotto. The pictures are on display now until Christmas Eve.

Check out the Jenners window display where select drawings will be featured.

Jenners isn't very good now that it isn't really Jenners any more. It's just Frasers now.

jenners is no more the grand old lady it once was, sure it was tatty round the edges but it was Jenners the place to go, now its had the heart and sole ripped from it, only last week because of frasers cutbacks the maintenance of the store has been woeful and inadequate and this caused the plumbing problem which had the effect of a rubbish service in the princes street restaurant, i mean drinking and eating from paper plates and cup is something you would expect from burger king,NOT jenners,

frasers and the current management have ripped the heart out of the store and made it look like a down market version of the tatty BHS
