Manual bids to improve heart patient recovery

PEOPLE suffering from heart problems in the Lothians are to be given an advice manual in a bid to cut attendance at hospitals.
The new edition of the brochure, which was first piloted 20 years ago, is aimed at a wide range of heart patients and will be unveiled this evening by health minister Shona Robison.

Patients will be told how to look after their diet, exercise responsibly and what risks to look out for. It is hoped it will improve the self-care of sufferers of angina, heart failure and other related diseases.

Louise Taylor, the heart manual lead for NHS Lothian, said: "The aim is to enable people to be in control of their recovery, with help from trained healthcare professionals, to enable them to achieve, where possible, a healthier lifestyle."

I can say that anyone out there with angina should consider ELHAB based at Aubigny Haddington.
Having become almost immobile their great work
and exercise programme has given me a new decent life.
