TYRES have been slashed on more than 20 cars in Livingston during a two-week spree by mindless vandals. The attacks have sparked calls for more CCTV monitoring in the area.
Over the past couple of weeks, police have reported more than 20 incidents of tyres being slashed in the Labrador Avenue and Toronto Avenue areas in Howden, causing around £3000 worth of damage.

One resident, who asked not to be named, said three tyres on the family car had been slashed and her next door neighbour had all four on his car wrecked during a late-night attack last week.

"You can't stay awake all night watching your property and some other people who live in the area are thinking of collecting names on a petition to ask for CCTV cameras to be put up."
